Some frequently asked questions:

Q:    Do you charge fixed fees for handling tax matters?

A:    No.  The reasons for this are explained in a policy statement (requires Adobe Acrobat®) we give to our clients which refers to a court decision (requires Adobe Acrobat®) that involved one of our clients.

Q:    What does it cost to prepare and submit an Offer in Compromise?

A:    As explained in the Offer in Compromise Fees, the cost for submitting an Offer varies.   

Q:    I am a client, but I don't understand why your bills include time for writing memorandums.  Why do you do this?

A:    The reasons for this are explained in the policy statement (requires Adobe Acrobat®) we provide to our clients.

Q:    Do you charge for responding to questions about the website?

A:    We are happy to respond to comments and general questions about our website or the issues discussed in the materials posted on the site. We will charge a minimum fee to a credit card of $50.00 (US) for responding to questions about specific situations. In replying to such questions, we may be limited in what we can do because of restrictions on the unauthorized practice of law. Newland & Associates is licensed to practice law only in the state of Virginia.
